There is an inch of snow on the ground and the clothes on the line are frozen.
Guess who was just in the barn?
Becca’s first possible due date was April 29th or up to 21 days after that. This is her first calf, and she has been bagging up, but certainly no sign of her pin bones dropping, or any other regular signs. Ha!
Beautiful! What a busy couple of days for you. ๐ These animals sure do love keeping us on our toes! I am so excited to see how this little cross turns out. Will you keep her to milk? Yay for babies!
As you know I was in my Scottish Highlander phase, because of my cream addiction, and am excited to see the cross as well. Becca is Jersey and Brown Swiss and much bigger than our pure Jerseys. So, yes, I am curious about this cross and will hopefully raise her to milk her. Becca is so tall that this baby can just walk right under her! She is very bad right now, running all around the barn causing a lot of stress to her mom! ๐ I’ll see about milking out Becca a little today, and then hopefully can really milk her tomorrow.
Poor Mama, those babies can really single out that last nerve and pounce on it….repeatedly. It will be interesting to see which breeds she favors and how her milk turns out in a couple years. ๐ Does she have a name yet?
cute!!!
Oh she is cute. She is half Highlander so she looks like a little teddy bear.
Yea! Milk time! What a wonderful surprise!!
๐ I am so relieved, whew!
Wahoo!!! What is it?!? So excited for you!! Congrats to Becca!!
She is doing fine this morning, running around and making her mom very nervous. ๐
