Milking On the Other Side of the World

Our dear friends, Allan and Francie Ivy, are on the other side of the world, visiting family in their beloved homeland South Africa.

Francie has so sweetly been sharing some photos of their adventures and I asked her to capture some moments of milking cows on their family ranch. I love it!

enjoy

“Bringing the milk cows in…they are Bonsmara crosses at the moment running with an Nguni bull.”

He is tying her back legs so she will not kick. Notice how she is not tied up at all.

🙂 I love how he has her tail tied up as well, so she cannot whip him in the face with it.

I love seeing their brand IVY.

He is only milking out the two front quarters because…

look who are waiting for the back quarters! Shiny and sleek beauties!

He lets one calf in.
